Hi ELE Families! One of our own is making and collecting posters with encouraging messages to hang up at local hospitals. Words of encouragement such as "Thanks for all you do!" and "You are our heroes". We hope this helps the healthcare workers and patients get through this trying time. If any ELE kiddos want to participate you can drop off posters at her house during the week - they will deliver them to the hospitals on Fridays. Address in comments. Thank you!! 💜💜💜 ... Dear Families,

Please complete a survey for EACH of your children who are currently enrolled at Elizabeth Lane Elementary. This information will be used to create learning kits that will be distributed to support learning from home during the school closure. Information about learning kit distribution will be communicated to families as soon as possible.

Teachers and staff will begin calling families tomorrow if we have not received a response by 8:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17. We want to make sure that we know how to support EVERY student and family.

We will continue to communicate with families frequently through school email, teacher email, and our school webpage. A digital learning plan help site will be shared with families BEFORE any lessons or assignments begin. We understand that this is a new experience for your family and our staff. We are moving quickly to prepare, but your child is not falling behind with any assignments at this time.

REQUIRED FAMILY NEEDS ASSESSMENTS - links posted in comments.

(This survey is the same that was sent from the school message system earlier today. Parents only need to complete one survey for each child.)

Some things that parents may want to consider before the digital learning plan begins:

-Will your child have a specific place at home for online learning?

-How can I set up a space that will help my child keep materials organized?

-Once a schedule of learning is shared, what will be the daily routine for my child?

-What types of "free time" activities can I provide that will reduce screen time outside of digital learning? (Legos, arts and crafts, etc.)

More information will be shared with families to help with the transition to digital learning during the school closure!
