Dear ELE Families,
Spring is definitely in the air and allergy session has arrived before cold and flu has subsided. We continue to review proper handwashing techniques and teach students to cover a sneeze or cough with a tissue or the inside of their elbows to reduce the spread of germs. Hand sanitizer is available in our classrooms, but washing hands with soap and water is the standard practice before lunch and during restroom breaks. Parents can help us by reinforcing these practices at home and helping teachers restock classroom supplies of tissues and sanitizing wipes. Information and tips for teaching children about effective handwashing (provided by the CDC) is linked below.
Healthy habits, such as adequate sleep, are also extremely important for our children (and us)! Spring sports, extra daylight in the evenings, and busy schedules can make it difficult to stay on track with nightly routines. Information and suggestions for parents to help children rest better (Stanford Children’s Health) is also linked below.
Thank you for all that you do to support the ELE Family. Have a wonderful weekend!
