A Message from Our Principal

Dear ELE Families,

We have had a busy week at ELE!  Thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend our Literacy Night.  We had a great turnout.  If your child was absent on school picture day this week, makeup pictures are scheduled for Thursday, November 6.

It is hard to believe that next week marks the midpoint of first quarter!  Parents of kindergarten through second grade students will receive a printed progress report.  Parents of third through fifth grade students will log on to the PowerSchool Parent Portal to review current grades.  Any parent who does not have access to the internet will be given the opportunity to request a paper copy.

If your child eats breakfast at school, please remind him/her to report directly to the cafeteria to eat before heading to class.  This will help us cut down on the number of students who are reporting to class after the tardy bell.  Parents who bring their children to school in the morning should arrive in the parking lot before 7:40 am in order to give your child time to walk to class before the bell.

Parent/teacher conferences are just around the corner.  The district has reserved October 31 as the conference day, but your teacher may also offer alternative dates for families who will be traveling.  Please be sure that you have scheduled a date with your teacher for your conference.  This is the only formally scheduled conference for the year.  Other conferences can be arranged by parent or teacher request.

There are still a few slots available for the community meetings that are scheduled.  To reserve your space, please click here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0545a5aa23a0ff2-eleparentprincipa  I look forward to gathering as much feedback as possible from our ELE families.  If you would like to suggest a location in the community for a meeting, please send me an email!

Thank you for all that you do to help the Hawks continue to SOAR to success at ELE!

Sincerely,

Crystal Lail
