A Message from our Principal

Dear ELE Families,

I hope that your children have had a smooth transition back to remote learning after the winter break.  Our staff really enjoyed having the time over break to rest and reset.  We returned ready to continue working toward the goal of providing your children a strong academic program and positive school experience for the 20-21 school year!

Second quarter report cards will be shared with families the week of January 19.  We plan to send report cards home with students who are attending school in-person, and will either offer a drive-through or send report cards for FRA students in the mail.  The second quarter report card grades are available now in PowerSchool for third-fifth grade students (PowerSchool is not available for K-2 report cards).  If you have a student in third-fifth grade and have not yet set up a PowerSchool Parent account, please email our registrar (deena.lunan@cms.k12.nc.us) to request your access code.

I’m sure that many of our Hawks are hoping that the snowflakes accumulate a little farther south than expected, and I have my fingers crossed for them.  This is the first time that I don’t need to be concerned about an early dismissal plan for winter weather, so I’m hoping for a fun afternoon for the children instead!

Thank you for all that you do to support the ELE Family.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Crystal Lail

Happy Friday Hawks!

Welcome back to ELE in the new year! I hope all of you had a wonderful winter break! I definitely enjoyed time off to relax, but I’m also thankful to have a routine back and look forward to what this semester holds!

I hope you plan to join me for our January General PTA Meeting with Committee Reports Monday evening at 7! We have an important vote to hold during this meeting concerning our budget for the remainder of the year. In our Board meeting in December we voted on necessary changes to the budget to reflect AFO giving and school needs, now it’s your turn to give your stamp of approval. So, tell all your ELE friends and neighbors to join us Monday night at 7 via zoom to help us move forward with supporting our favorite elementary school! Sign up information for this meeting is included below.

Have a nice weekend! And get some much needed rest after getting back into the school groove this week!
