Happy Friday Hawks!Congratulations 3rd-5th graders on completing your Math and Reading EOGs!! 5th grade you just have science to go!

Thank you to all who attended our final PTA Meeting for this school year. It was nice to “see” familiar faces on Zoom and hear updates from some of our active committee coordinators! Congratulations to the newly elected 2021-2022 ELE PTA Board of Directors! I am honored to be serving as your President again next year and really looking forward to work with so many new folks in what is hopefully a more normal year!

We still have Committee Coordinator positions available, these are a great way to get more involved at ELE and are so beneficial to the students and staff! Contact Sarah Johnson, Nominating Committee Chair, at eleptanominating@gmail.com for more details!

Summer Reading Opportunities…Don’t Miss Out!

In order to continue our partnership with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library, we are enouraging our ELE Hawks to participate in the  ‘Summer Break’ reading program.  Fill your summer with adventure through books and creative activities from June 7-August 14, 2021. The Summer Break program lets you track your activities online for the chance to win prizes. Click here to register beginning May 17, 2021.

Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program encourages our readers to transport themselves someplace magical or historical by reading 8 books in order to earn a free book.  For more information and to get a reading journal, click here or visit any B&N store. No purchase necessary. You may turn in  your reading journal anytime between July 1-August 31, 2021. Spend your lazy, hazy days of summer with a good book!

2021 Spring Book Fair

Dear ELE families,

Tired of reading the same old books or looking at a screen?  Well, we’re here to help!  ELE PTA is offering an online spring book fair from Follet Book Fairs!  While we wish we were all together and enjoying Hawkfest, this online version will have to do!

You’re invited to shop our Follett Book Fair online from May 7th-16th!  All purchases benefit our school and connect kids with new books, favorite characters, complete series, and more.  You will be able to see books recommended by our very own ELE teachers.

Now everyone can participate!  Encourage your child to create their online wish list and share with friends and family. You can also look up your teacher’s wish list and purchase a book for them too!
