A Message from Our Principal

Dear ELE Families,

We know that this has been a week full of unanticipated changes.  I am sure that you have many questions about how your child’s school days will look once we transition to Plan B Plus Full Remote on November 2.  Adjusting our teaching teams to accommodate the new A/B weekly rotation groups became the highest priority for our team over the past two weeks.  We have created a new teaching model that continues to align with our goal of providing the best social, emotional, and academic experience for your child during this very unique school year.   Families with students in 3rd-5th grade will receive additional communication from homeroom teachers later today about the teacher block assignments and our plan to make that transition.  K-2 families will receive information on Monday about the transition plan for their children.

We will move forward with communicating details about safety procedures and protocols that will be in place for students who will be attending school in person, and informing you about the plan for keeping our Full Remote Academy students connected to the ELE Family.  We will focus on safety and health measures in our communications the week of October 19, and the student experience the week of October 26.  Families of students who are NOT enrolled in Full Remote Academy will receive information about bus assignments and bus stop times next week.  We will send an electronic version of our Student Information Form (formerly known as the “blue card”) through teacher newsletters next Thursday.  Families will be asked to indicate their students’ method of morning and afternoon transportation on the electronic form.  If you will not be using bus transportation, it is very helpful for you to indicate that on the information form so that space can become available for students who are waitlisted for a bus assignment.  We will share details about the carpool process, symptom screenings, breakfast, lunch, recess, supplies, and more next week!

THANK YOU to the families who have already contributed to the All For One Fund!  We understand that this is a challenging year in so many ways, and our goal is always to ask for participation with any amount that is comfortable for our families.  It is amazing how much we are able to accomplish each year with the contributions from our ELE Family!  We will continue working to enhance the curriculum, make campus improvements, and improve our technology tools with your gifts this year.

October 19 is a Teacher Workday and students will not be given new assignments or have live instruction to attend on Monday.  Our teachers will be working hard to complete first quarter report cards and begin planning and preparing for second quarter on the workday.  The school office will be closed and we will not have material pickups available on Monday.  Our office staff and support teams will also be working hard on Monday to prepare for the transition to Plan B.  Be on the lookout for many more details next week!

Thank you for all that you do to support the ELE Family.   Have a wonderful weekend!
